The downtown of Colledara has a spectacular view of the Gran Sasso mountain.

The Commune of Colledara is made up of several suburbs (frazioni). One of the largest is Villa Petto where, on Via Nazionale can be found a popular real estate business, Gran Sasso House. Also located nearby are the churches of San Salvatore and Santa Lucia.

Next to Colledara is Basciano, home of the famous timber and wood enterprise, Silea. A bit further away are the villages of Valle San Giovanni (home of Casale) and Rapino.
